Rotorua is a major destination for both domestic and international travelers, and for good reason. Its diverse display of geothermal activity, including steaming sulphuric lakes, boiling mud pools, and impressive geysers, like Pohutu at Whakarewarewa, are filled with vibrant colors & features rarely seen in nature. Here, they’re around every corner and make for incredible photographs. 

A little fun fact you might not know: the full name of Rotorua is actually Te Rotorua-nui-a-Kahumatamomoe which comes from the Polynesian Māori language and means “Crater Lake”. Come witness and photograph these natural wonders with us on our next group tour to New Zealand’s North Island!
